How much time do you spend criticising the efforts of others, commenting on what’s not working and telling people all the ways things could be improved?
What difference do you make? How much changes as a result of your ‘feedback’? My bet is not much at all.
If you want something to change become a player instead of an observer. If you have a great idea, what can you do to implement it? Who needs to be enlisted, influenced or paid to make something happen? What decisions need to be made to get things moving? Who needs to make them? What do you need to do to influence them?
If your workplace culture is sub-optimal are you contributing to it or enhancing it? How?
Too much energy gets spent on listening and amplifying opinions, observations and commentary from people in the spectator stands. Too little energy is directed into doing something that makes a difference.
